Shar Pei online - Old Spanish Pointer.
The Old Spanish pointer, also called the Navarre Pachon, is little known to a wide range of dog breeders. This is a friendly hunting dog, more often used when hunting feathered game. The dog is short, but powerful and hardy. The character is balanced and calm. The peculiarity of this breed is a forked nose, for which it is also called a "two—nosed dog".
Characteristics of Old Spanish Pointer
This is not the most popular dog breed even among professional hunters. It is ancient and very rare. It was from her that the catalburun, the Turkish pointer, originated.
The International Cynological Federation (FCI) still does not officially recognize this breed. Perhaps the fact is that the livestock of these dogs has only 200 individuals worldwide, and in order for the breed to be fixed, it must number several thousand queens and at least 150 producers. But it's not a simple increase in numbers, there are other criteria.
Not even officially recognized, the Old Spanish pointer exists thanks to enthusiasts. At the present time, there are no large breeding kennels where anyone could buy a puppy. Owners of breeding animals will not give a puppy to a "man from the street", if you want to buy a Navarre pachon, you need to try and prove that you are buying a rare dog for hunting, and not for her to show off on the couch.
